Overview:

Please join us for a virtual event on Wednesday 10 July 2024 at 11.30am exploring maternal inequalities and how trusts can enhance patient outcomes using quality improvement.

Content:

The Ockenden review (2022) provided a series of immediate and essential actions to improve care and maternity services across England. Despite a 20% decrease in stillbirth and neonatal deaths in England between 2010 and 2021, other indicators of quality have declined in recent years and we know outcomes for black and Asian women and those from more deprived areas in the UK are significantly worse than for others.

This event will focus on how trusts are using quality improvement to address and improve maternity and neonatal outcomes, particularly for those patients at risk due to health inequalities. It will also explore the actions and roles boards can take to support improvement in maternity care.

At this virtual event, you’ll hear from senior leaders who are tackling this challenge. Speakers at this session will include:

There will be dedicated time to ask questions and share reflections. This event offers an opportunity to step back, reflect, learn from each other’s experiences and take away practical insights to consider how these could be applied in your own context.
