NED network, July 2024
Date: 24 July 2024
Time: 13:00
Venue: Virtual event via MS Teams
The next meeting of the NED network will take place virtually on Wednesday 24 July from 13:00 - 15:30.
The agenda for this event is still in development, however we already have the following engaging sessions confirmed:
- A strategic policy update by Amber Jabbal, head of policy and strategic projects, NHS Providers, who will present an overview of key policy issues impacting providers, including a review of the current NHS state of play, analysis of the wider context, and discussion around short and longer term priorities for the sector. There will be an opportunity for Q&A.
- A chance to hear from Jayne Chidgey-Clark, the Freedom to Speak Up national guardian, who recently gave evidence to the Health and Care Committee's NHS leadership inquiry about the importance of enabling a speaking up culture, and the links between this and a culture of improvement.
- A session on the board's role in reducing health inequalities, led by Professor Durka Dougall, chief executive at Centre for Population Health and Rachael McKeown, policy advisor (health inequalities) at NHS Providers. This will include insights about what can make a real impact and will highlight the practical support available.
The meeting will be chaired by:
- Jayne Phoenix, non-executive director, Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
