NHS Improvement (NHSI) has published a consultation on proposed changes to the rules governing how trusts can set up wholly owned subsidiaries (WOS) companies. Ahead of this consultation, NHSI last month asked all trusts working to set up a WOS to 'pause' their plans. The new rules could affect all future WOSs and those under development that have been paused, but would have no impact on existing WOSs in their current form.
