Samantha Jones stepping down: NHS Providers response

05 April 2017

Samantha Jones has announced she is stepping down as NHS England’s New Care Models programme director.

She was appointed by NHS England in January 2015 to lead the vanguard programme to set up and test five new models of care outlined in the Five Year Forward View.

Jones will step down at the end of May.

“Sam’s thoughtful and effective leadership has helped to ensure that this programme stands a better chance of achieving lasting success.

In response, the chief executive of NHS Providers, Chris Hopson said:

“Sam has made a great contribution to the development of new care models and the vanguard programme, which are key elements of the vision set out in the Five Year Forward View. They are starting to deliver valuable and important development work, and it is vital that these initiatives come to full fruition.

“Sam’s thoughtful and effective leadership has helped to ensure that this programme is different to others that have preceded it, and stands a better chance of achieving lasting success.

“We wish her well in her future endeavours, and thank her for all the work she has done.”
