NHS Providers begins the process of recruiting for a new chair

03 April 2019

Dame Gill Morgan is to step down as chair of NHS Providers later this year.

Gill will reach the end of her second term in office after over five years as chair, during that time NHS Providers has secured 100% of trusts in membership. The successor will take over at an important time for the organisation as it embarks on a new three-year strategy.

The NHS Providers board has now started the recruitment process to find a suitable successor. The aim is to make the appointment in July. Odgers have been appointed to act as search consultants, with a closing date for applications on Monday 29 April 2019.

Commenting on the departure of Dame Gill Morgan, NHS Providers chief executive Chris Hopson said:

"On behalf of all NHS Providers employees and members, I would like to thank Gill for all the excellent work she has done and level of commitment she has brought as chair.

"We have all benefitted hugely from her experience, judgement and wisdom. We have enjoyed working with her for the past few years and will all miss her enormously, both on a professional and a personal level."
