Course overview

This course is delivered by NHS Providers and commissioned by the Disabled NHS Directors Network (DNDN).

DNDN is providing this course as part of its work to increase the representation of people with disabilities at every level in the NHS. It is for those individuals who identify as having a disability and have considered applying for a non-executive director role in the NHS. Individuals do not necessarily need to have had previous NHS experience.

This one-day, online course will provide those who identity as having a disability with an opportunity to explore the role of non-executive directors in the NHS and how it aligns with their own career aspirations. Whether you are currently a NED or trustee in a different organisation, or if you want to understand more about the role to help when considering future career aspirations, the course aims to provide space to explore the NHS non-executive director role and the valuable perspectives those with the lived experience of disabilities can bring to leadership positions.
