Course overview

Within NHS foundation trusts, the council of governors has a responsibility for holding non-executive directors to account for board performance, along with representing views of members and the public. An effective working relationship between governors and non-executive directors is an important part of the accountability framework within an NHS foundation trust. 

This half day course provides an overview of the role of governors and how to build an effective accountability relationship between non-executive directors and governors.
