To date, over 700 colleagues have been trained in quality improvement (QI), 469 project ideas have been received and the team have supported 45 projects to completion and have a further 99 projects in progress. Many of these programmes of work are still in the early stages and concrete data to demonstrate impact around patient outcomes is not yet available. However, important qualitative indicators are already reflecting positive change, such as:

  • Reduction in length of stay due to standardising and streamlining processes.
  • Increased staff morale.
  • Stronger team relationships.
  • Staff feeling listened to, heard and understood.
  • Increased sense of empowerment and ability to effect change.
  • Improved staff sense of the quality of care being provided.
  • Reduced complaints from patients.
  • More efficient processes and reduction in waste through process mapping to understand services.
