The NHS Providers rural trust learning network aims to ensure the national bodies’ thinking encompasses the challenges faced by trusts serving a rural population. A number of smaller, rural providers have been coming together for some time to share practice and inform this work, ensuring issues around quality, workforce and financial sustainability are better taken into account.
Led by Patricia Miller, chief executive at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, the group includes representation from the ambulance, acute, community, mental health and specialist sectors.
