Having proved that delegated responsibility and multi-agency partnership could lead to improved outcomes and experience for service users, Northamptonshire clinical commissioning group (CCG) took the approach to the next level in April 2021 – officially launching the Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Collaborative Programme.
Its vision is to bring strategic planning partners, operational leads, clinical experts and people with lived experience together under a series of formal structures and as equal partners. Its objectives are to:
- Combine data sets, business intelligence and service user stories to inform strategic system planning across all sectors of health and care.
- To check facts and challenge assumptions as critical friends.
- To generate new ideas, approaches and solutions to system issues (seeing these as a shared responsibility).
- To see where system resources and funding could be combined, co-commissioned and/or co-delivered to better effect.
- To co-design and co-produce proposals for new integrated care pathways.
