Overview

NHS Providers in partnership with NHS Confederation is hosting a roundtable session on behalf of NHS IMPACT, focused on improvement career pathways and the professionalisation of improvement roles across the NHS in England.

This session forms part of a wider project commissioned by NHS IMPACT to build a clearer national understanding of the improvement landscape, including improvement roles, capability and capacity, and how improvement careers are structured and supported across organisations.

What we'll cover

This session will focus particularly on:

·       The current status of improvement capability and capacity in NHS organisations.

·       How improvement career pathways are currently experienced and understood across the system.

·       Where there are gaps, inconsistencies or missed opportunities in existing improvement roles, structures and support.

·       Whether, and how, greater national coordination or professionalisation of improvement careers could add value including potential models such as a national faculty, professional body or community of practice.

Who should attend

  • Senior leaders who are responsible for, or lead, improvement within their organisation.
  • Those with an interest in improvement and in shaping the future of improvement careers across the NHS.
