The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has summarised responses to its consultation, Changes for more flexible and responsive regulation, and confirmed next steps.

This consultation was launched in January 2021, outlining specific proposals in response to regulatory changes that took place during the COVID-19 pandemic. These included changes to how CQC intends to assess and rate services more flexibly, enabling it to update ratings more regularly, responsively, and proportionately. It also aims to make ratings easier to understand for everyone.
