19 January 2026
Insights from our peer learning event, held on Monday 12 January 2026.
NHS architecture
The government’s intention to remove the statutory requirement for Councils of Governors in forthcoming health legislation has created uncertainty for foundation trusts and their governors. While legislative change is anticipated by March 2027, this is not guaranteed, meaning trusts must continue to sustain functional, councils and support governors throughout this transitional period.
This interactive online peer learning event explored how trusts can respond practically to this uncertainty, continue meeting statutory requirements, and maintain effective working relationships with governors.
