Building a digital strategy (2024 edition)

Building and enabling digital teams is designed to help trust leaders make the next step in the digital agenda and become truly digital organisations. The guide has been jointly prepared by NHS Providers and Public Digital, with the support of Health Education England and NHSX.

Digital teams are the cornerstone of building a digital organisation. Supported by effective governance, they are the muscles that enable your organisation to be responsive, open, efficient and agile, and to successfully deliver ever more transformational services.

The guide explores what a good digital team looks like, how to build one, and where boards need to start in order to build on the progress made so far during Covid-19. It also looks at the governance arrangements boards can establish to support and empower effective digital teams.
