On the day briefing: EHRC - Experiences from health and social care: the treatment of lower-paid ethnic minority workers

On 9 June, the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) published the final report on their inquiry into the experiences of lower-paid ethnic minority staff in health and social care. The inquiry was launched in 2020 due to the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on ethnic minority and lower-paid staff in frontline roles. The report is broad in its coverage, looking at health and social care across England, Wales and Scotland. In this briefing, we have focused on summarising the key findings and recommendations relevant to trusts in England. The remaining recommendations are directed towards the UK and devolved governments, while there are a number of key findings relating to the social care and independent sectors also contained within the report.
