In 2015, 114 members (almost half of the provider sector) responded to our remuneration survey; providing us with data for over 900 executive and non-executive posts.
The results show an average remuneration for chairs of £40,000 per annum, with an average monthly time commitment of 11 days.
NEDs received on average £6,000 per annum at NHS Trusts (as set by the NHS TDA) and £13,000 per annum at foundation trusts.
As well as remuneration information we also collected data on year of appointment, vacancies, how many chief executives are clinically qualified and/or in their first post, and uplifts for additional responsibilities held by NEDs.
