Chief Executive,
NHS Providers

Responding to an announcement from NHS England that flu has hit the NHS more than a month earlier this year, with cases triple the same time last year, the chief executive of NHS Providers, Daniel Elkeles said:

“Flu and other nasty winter bugs wreaked havoc on the NHS last year with wards full to the brim with poorly patients. This year looks like it’s going to be even trickier with cases of flu already surging and likely to get worse.

“We would urge anyone eligible for a flu vaccination to ‘get jabbed’ to protect themselves and other vulnerable people.”
