NHS Providers response to warnings of second wave

29 July 2020

Responding to warnings of second wave of pandemic and the potential impact of the NHS, chief executive Chris Hopson said:

"NHS trusts will be closely following the significant warnings about a surge in cases and the next phase of the coronavirus pandemic.

"They, along with all health systems across the world, are now facing the challenge of responding to this and returning to day to day business of running a health service.

"Trusts have successfully restarted a number of services and planned procedures and are focused on ensuring they can continue to do this and provide care for patients needing treatment for coronavirus.

"These warnings remind us all that this is an incredibly difficult, complicated situation and that none of us can afford to be complacent."
