NHS Providers responds to CQC's results of the 2019 adult inpatient survey

02 July 2020

Commenting on CQC's results of the 2019 adult inpatient survey, the deputy chief executive of NHS Providers, Saffron Cordery said:

"We welcome the publishing of the results of CQC's survey, which is a tool for trusts to establish what they're doing well and areas for further improvement.

"It is also good to see positive experiences of care highlighted in the survey published today, underlining how hard frontline staff are working to provide high quality care for patients.

"The proportion having changes to their planned admission, and issues raised around the co-ordination of services, highlights the financial and capacity pressures trusts have been under in recent years.

"This survey was carried out before COVID-19 was with us. As the NHS moves into the next phase of its response to the pandemic, there will be a need for pragmatism and realism to ensure services can meet all patient needs."
