Governor workshops and networks
Governor virtual workshops
In addition to our GovernWell training programme, we also run virtual workshops for governors offering them the opportunity to make contacts that will prove helpful in exercising their statutory duties to a high standard. Your membership fee covers the cost for governors to attend.
Topics covered in the workshops include the NHS in a local context, working in partnership with stakeholders, sharing good practice and exploring key governor duties.
Please keep an eye out for further dates in 2023.
I've attended a LOT of online training and meetings in the past year, and this was a highlight for me. It was so well put together and delivered, and completely overturned my expectations of NHS Providers, and I felt quite inspired by the end of it. Very well done.
Public governor, Royal University Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, attended January 2021

Staff governor discussion groups
At our virtual workshops in 2021 we received feedback from attendees that there was an appetite for shorter facilitated “round table” networking sessions for peer groups that had specific issues.
Two staff governor pilot discussion sessions took place via Zoom on 2 August and 26 October 2021. Satisfaction with the events were overwhelmingly positive with 100% of staff governor respondents recommending the sessions. Delegates described the session as an opportunity to share best practice, learn helpful tips from peers and a positive support network. The timing of the event (4.30-5.30pm) was also appreciated.
Upcoming virtual dates:
Wednesday 3 May 2023, 4.30pm - 5.30pm
