Board development programme: Effective report writing, Manchester
Date 04 April 2019
Venue etc. venues Manchester, 11 Portland Street, Manchester, M1 3HU
Effective reports ensure that committees and the board enter into informed discussions on key issues with clarity on the root causes of problems and a shared understanding of the pros and cons of the various options being put forward as potential solutions. This enables the board to make the most effective use of time which is essential given the unprecedented challenges facing providers today. However, to quote Blaise Pascal, the 17th century French mathematician and scientist, what we frequently see are long rambling papers because busy executives lack the time to prepare succinct papers.
Who should attend?
- those faced with preparing committee and board papers including executive directors, associate directors and those who write board and committee papers.
What will I learn?
- the principles of report writing and effective communication

- how to improve the quality of your reports and the ultimate discussion and decision making through a mix of presentations on good practice and some hands on practical exercises in report writing.
