This year, NHS Providers attended the Conservative, Labour and Liberal Democrat party conferences and helda series of private roundtables and meetings to represent members' views, continue our dialogue with each party and explore how the NHS can respond to challenges faced across the system.
Our roundtables focused on the 10 year plan.
Monday 16 September, 2019
In 2019 we welcomed the publication of the NHS long term plan as well as the mental health implementation plan, which will help to deliver the long term plan commitments for mental health at a local level. As we look ahead to the NHS at 80, we will discuss how mental health services need to transform and what needs to happen to enable a sustainable, high quality and dynamic service. This includes adequately resourcing providers to improve service quality and capacity, investing in NHS estates, facilities and digital infrastructure, a realistic response to the workforce challenges facing mental health services, addressing the care deficit in children and young people’s mental health, and delivering on the ambition for greater early intervention.
