NHSP16: Governing for transformation

There is little law around STPs - less so their governance and structure. NHS Providers has been working with Hempsons solicitors, trust representatives and others involved in STPs to provide some clarification and guidance.

Some in the NHS see governance as a procedural obstacle rather than as a helpful mechanism that can facilitate the implementation of the transformation in patterns, models and locations of care necessary to ensure that the health and social care system is fit for 21st century purpose.

As STPs move from planning to implementation, this session shared practical tips and guidance to ensure that transparent and robust governance mechanisms are in place to support effective and sustainable transformation.
