On the day briefing: State of care in NHS acute hospitals

This briefing summarises the publication of the Care Quality Commission's The State of Care in NHS acute hospitals: 2014 to 2016

The report takes stock of the key findings, themes and trends emerging from the CQC's programme of comprehensive hospital inspections, which began in September 2013. Since then, the CQC has completed inspections of all 136 acute non-specialist and all 18 specialist trusts through which it has gained a valuable baseline picture of the quality of care across England.

Our briefing contains a chapter-based summary of the report, and includes our media statement published on the day.
