Board Development Programme
The NHS Providers Board Development Programme is open to all NHS trusts and foundation trusts. The programme, developed by NHS Providers and funded and supported by NHS Improvement, aims to provide support for trusts on common problem areas identified by regulators in relation to the revised Well Led framework. Currently the four areas of focus are:
- Working with the system to deliver transformational change
- Developing an effective and compassionate unitary board
- Developing a culture of continuous improvement to support high quality sustainable services
- Governance frameworks for recovering and maintaining performance
These events aim to draw on the experience and good practice developed by “good” and “outstanding” trusts, as well as linking in with stakeholders such as NHS Improvement and the CQC to provide an insight into the regulators perspective. Both NHS Provider members and non-members can access this support free of charge.
Alongside this, NHS Providers deliver paid for events on key topics including effective chairing, effective recording of board and committee meetings and effective report writing. These topics are also offered in bespoke format delivering tailored support to meet the needs of individual trusts.
The programme also provides support in establishing mentoring relationships; please visit the NED Mentoring Programme page below for more information.
