Roundtable on blurring the commissioner/provider split
Date 29 August 2018
Venue Coin Street Conference Centre, London
We are hosting a roundtable discussion in partnership with NHS Clinical Commissioners (the body representing CCGs) to explore how providers and CCGs are blurring the commissioner/provider split in practice.
We hope to use input from the roundtable, and wider research, to capture emerging practice, to better understand the implications for NHS providers (legally and in terms of relationships, skills and capacity), and to explore the range of views of those in the sector.
One of the outputs from this piece of work will be to provide a fuller definition of the term ‘tactical commissioning’ by capturing what responsibilities can pass from CCGs to providers in the context of more collaborative, system based working.
Dr Graham Jackson, Co-Chair of NHSCC and Clinical Lead for Buckinghamshire ICS will chair the roundtable, with senior participants expected from both the provider and commissioner sectors.
This roundtable discussion is aimed at NHS provider strategy directors and finance directors.
