NHS Providers is the membership organisation and trade association for NHS trusts and foundation trusts: delivering acute hospital, community, mental health and ambulance services. We support our members to deliver high-quality and patient focused care, by enabling them to learn from each other; acting as their public voice and helping shape the system in which they operate. NHS Providers has over 90% of all NHS trusts in membership.
This is a fantastic opportunity to help set the analytical priorities for a leading membership organisation. You will use your technical expertise to further develop the insights and analysis the team generates, ensuring that NHS Providers influences policy and supports its members in a robust and evidence based way. You will play a crucial and leading role within the policy directorate, working to maximise the influence and impact of our work.
In a typical week, you may be asked to: quality assure an internal dashboard produced by a member of your team, provide robust statistics for a speech which will have extensive media coverage, support a policy colleague in developing survey questions, and carry out more detailed analysis of healthcare data for inclusion in a blog or report.
You will be able to balance technical skills and expertise with excellent communication skills and an ability to work flexibly and independently, as well as nurturing support provided to the organisation by the analysis team. You must also be able to demonstrate an understanding of quantitative and qualitative research techniques, experience of using data to support policy priorities, desk-based research and project management experience. Previous experience of working in and around the health sector is strongly recommended, and experience of NHS datasets would be advantageous.
